Groom Room
The Groom Room began as a quarter-long design project with 3 other cohorts. At the conclusion of the quarter, I realized the proposed solution would not work for the client.
Hygiene4All requested that the Groom Room have the ability to be moved by a single person onto a truck bed. Mobility was a key issue as the resource for homeless people may need to move at any point. I was hired to continue designing a better solution for Hygiene4All after the end of the school year.
With multiple iterations, I came to a collapsible solution with a focus on trauma-informed design. The solution provides space for our houseless neighbors to change clothes, tend to first aid needs as well as a space to groom after showering.
Final Iteration.
